Stevenson and York Center are sister schools. Stevenson serves students in Kindergarten through second grade. York Center serves students in third through fifth grade.  York Center is located at 895 14th Street in Lombard.

Today, Stevenson School serves a diverse student body representing many languages and cultures, reflecting the strength and unity of our school community. Stevenson and York Center schools are sister schools. Stevenson serves students in kindergarten through second grade, and York Center serves students in third through fifth grade.

First opened in 1972, Stevenson School is part of District 45 and home of the Lions. The school was named in honor of Ethel Stevenson, a longtime educator in Lombard and Villa Park.

Mrs. Stevenson began teaching in the early 1950s in a one-room schoolhouse on Third Street between Roosevelt Road and 13th Street. She retired in 1965, and local historians have noted her dedication to academic excellence and community service.

The building closed in 1981 when enrollment declined and was leased for out-of-district special education classes for 10 years. It reopened in 1995, after a major addition, to again serve District 45 students.

Stevenson School takes pride in its history and looks forward to its future, serving as a supportive and collaborative community where all students are responsible, resilient, and ready to excel.
