Navigating the circle drive at Stevenson for arrival and dismissal can be difficult. To clear the congestion and keep students safe, we have new​ procedures to implement.

ARRIVAL

1. Drop-off at the east wing (Door #10) of the building. When you enter the drive, please pull all the way down to the end of the kindergarten wing.

DO NOT exit your car at any time. Please roll down your window to ask a staff member to assist your child getting out of the vehicle.

2. ALL students, whether they arrive by car, bus, or on foot will enter through Door #10 and NOT the main entrance at the front of the school. NO parents should be on the sidewalk outside the school building ( Door 1 and 10) until after 8:05.

3. Students will be allowed into the building beginning at 7:45 am and will either go to the lunchroom for breakfast or play on the playground until the bell rings at 8:00 am. Students will not be served breakfast if they arrive after 8:05.

 If you arrive at or after 8:00, please park your car in a parking space and come in the front entrance to sign your child in.  Do not stop your car in the circle drive, or idle near the front entrance.  The drive in front of the school is a Fire Lane and cannot be obstructed.

DISMISSAL

We will use 2 exits to speed up dismissal, depending on how students travel home.  Your student must know daily how he/she will go home. They can be a bus rider, walker, or car rider.

1. Bus riders will be dismissed from the front entrance before general dismissal to efficiently load buses prior to any cars.  Cars should not pull into the drive ahead of any buses.  Cars that arrive before buses should pull aside to allow buses through, or park away from the circle drive.
2. Walkers (students whose parents arrive on foot or who park their cars) will be dismissed from door 10, at the crosswalk.  Parents will meet walking students at the parking lot.
3. Car riders will wait on the sidewalk in the front of the school until their car pulls all the way up.  Cars should proceed through the circle drive, past the front entrance to the east side of the building to be united with their car-riding student(s).
4. Display your name plate on your visor when you are in the car rider line to help with ease of dismissal.

It is NEVER safe to pass a car in the pick-up line. Please wait to pull forward (East) to exit the parking lot when the car in front of you exits.
