On October 12, Stevenson families donned their camping gear and came to school for “Camp Read-a-Lot,” a Family Reading Night designed and hosted by Stevenson teachers and staff. The school was packed with families, who rotated through four rooms decorated to match the theme.
At each station, our Lions heard stories by the “campfire” (real logs with creatively designed “fire” on top) followed by engaging in reading activities like building words, reading “under the stars,” and putting together a cube with story elements to help students with comprehension at home.
Families were treated to oven-fresh, delicious s’mores to make the event even sweeter! What a fun, theme-filled way to encourage reading! Well done, Lions!
